Get a Phone Call via your Blog or Social Network Simplifies Click-to-Call Service

Jaxtr is a new service that has been designed to make click-to-call service really simple. It is a way station for phone calls that provides the individual who is being called lots of control over who is allowed to contact them. Jaxtr is not yet available for public use, but a private beta has been launched.

According to the Jaxtr team, it is Jaxtr’s widget technology that distinguishes it from the competition. Every Jaxtr user can place a box (widget) on their social network page (e.g. MySpace) or blog. The box permits anyone who visits your network page or blog to connect to you by phone. The visitor enters their phone number in the box, and Jaxtr then calls both you and your visitor and connects you. However, when it comes to widgets posted on blog pages, Jaxtr actually connects the caller to the blog owner’s voice mail. The owner can then retrieve the messages on Jaxtr’s website.

One of the many benefits of using Jaxtr is the fact that although it makes it easy for others to contact you by phone, you don’t have to actually give out your phone number. The same goes for the caller. He or she can hide their number from the recipient. Remember, it is only Jaxtr who calls the numbers and connects the caller to the recipient.

Another benefit of Jaxtr is its implementation of click-to-call which makes it easy to use. Callers do not need to sign up in order to use it. You simply enter your number into Jaxtr and it connects you.

Although you may find that when using Jaxtr the initial connection with a caller is less than perfect, Jaxtr does make it possible for the caller to attain a direct line to the recipient’s phone for a better connection. When it comes to using a direct phone line, there are two great things that accompany this feature. The first is that the phone number is not the recipient’s actual number; it is a number assigned by Jaxtr that routes to the recipient’s phone. Thus, Jaxtr users have the ability to specify which callers get through, which callers are diverted directly to voice mail, and which callers are disabled. The second feature is that the number provided for the recipient can be in the caller’s local area code. Thus, if the recipient lives in France, and the caller is in New York, the recipient’s number that the caller sees would be a local New York number.
